Securis Data Destruction Services Ranked by Inc. Magazine
Securis, industry leader in professional data destruction, named to top 500 fastest-growing companies by Inc. magazine.
Inc. magazine today ranked Securis No. 396 on its 31st annual Inc. 500|5000, a ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy — America’s independent entrepreneurs. Securis joins companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Zipcar, Clif Bar, Vizio and Oracle who gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500|5000.
Originally founded as PC Recycler in 2003, Washington, D.C.-area Securis is an industry-leading provider of information technology asset disposal, including ultra-secure recycling, auditing and destruction services for PCs, hard drives, servers, monitors, printers and other electronics waste and data storage devices.
“The Securis team is very proud to achieve the Inc. 500 recognition,” says Securis co-founder and CEO Jeremy Farber. “We see this as an acknowledgement of our continued focus on helping security- and environmentally conscious organizations, including those in the federal government, financial services, health care and government contracting, protect their data during their IT assets’ ‘end of life’ stage.”
The list criteria
The 2012 Inc. 500, unveiled in the September issue of Inc. is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. To make the cut, companies had to have achieved a staggering minimum of 770% in sales growth. The Inc. 500’s aggregate revenue is $15.7 billion, with a median three-year growth of 1,431%. The companies on this year’s Inc. 500 employ more than 48,000 people and generated more than 40,000 jobs in the past three years.
The 2012 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of Dec. 31, 2011. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.
“As the market for ultra-secure IT asset disposal services continues to explode,” Jeremy continues, “Securis will be delivering innovative and responsive services to protect our clients’ sensitive data, as well as the environment.”
“Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500/5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs and drive the economy forward. Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is,” says Inc. magazine Editor in Chief Eric Schurenberg.
Securis is approved by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and certified by National Association of Information Destruction (NAID) and the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) logistics information service. Securis is 100% compliant with all U.S. federal, state and local data security and environmental regulations. Just before being renamed Securis in Summer 2012, the company was recognized as #396 on the Inc. 500 list as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America.
